Always wanted to spend some time in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Although it was a fast and furious adventure, we were able to see and do a lot of things. There were two bucket items we missed two, but that is a story for later posting. Here are some things we did get to do. First, we went fishing on the famous Lake Manistique. It was absolutely beautiful.
Spent some time at the well-respected Garland Zoo. Small and personal, but yet has some of the most amazing animals. Definitely someplace you would want to take the family to visit.
And although it is not the Upper Peninsula, we stopped and spent some time at the NOAA Thunder Bay Museum in Alpena, MI. This was especially exciting, as this is the field that one of my kids wants to be in when they grow up. The museum staff offered great history and insight as to the weather patterns and their contributions to the many ship wreaks in the Great Lakes.
